Valiente managed to beat Las Monjitas in overtime Wednesday afternoon, 13-12, in second round play in the 2015 United States Open Championship at the International Polo Club, but they needed an overtime goal with which to do it.

The final of the 2015 USPA Piaget Gold Cup was truly a tale of two teams. Orchard Hill rode into the game with a C. V. Whitney Cup title in their pocket and a record of seven consecutive 26-goal wins without a loss this season.
There was no shortage of spectators for the second game of the day as the cars convoyed from one field to the other at the International Polo Club, and the semifinal matchup between Orchard Hill and Alegria wouldn’t disappoint them.
In Sunday’s quarterfinal action in the 2015 USPA Piaget Gold Cup at the International Polo Club, Alegria knocked off Valiente 14-8 while Las Monjitas beat Lechuza Caracas 10-6. Wins by both Alegria and Las Monjitas boosted both teams into Wednesday’s semifinals where Las Monjitas will face Audi in a 2pm contest followed by a 4pm showdown between Alegria and Orchard Hill.
Audi fell behind Las Monjitas by five goals, 6-1, before an offensive explosion garnered them eight consecutive goals in leading them to a 16-11 win.
