The final of the 2017 Ylvisaker Cup was a sit-on-the-edge-of-your-seat thriller from the first play to the last, with Julio Arellano bringing it home for Coca-Cola in a 9-8 overtime win over Tonkawa.
In two incredibly close and intense Ylvisaker Cup semifinal matches Wednesday at the International Polo Club Palm Beach (IPC), Coca-Cola defeated Orchard Hill 11-10 and Tonkawa took Postage Stamp Farm 13-12. They will face off in the final Sunday, Feb. 19.

At International Polo Club on Monday Postage Stamp Farm defeated Travieso 12-11, and Tonkawa bested La Indiana 8-7 in overtime.
Orchard Hill took a tight 9-8 victory over Valiente II in Sunday’s featured match at the International Polo Club Palm Beach (IPC). In two other Ylvisaker Cup games, Mt. Brilliant defeated Goose Creek 9-8, and Valiente I claimed a 10-9 win over Grand Champions/Casablanca.
Friday was a long run as the Ylvisaker Cup continued with four back-to-back games at the International Polo Club Palm Beach. The first three ended with the same score (11-9): Coca-Cola defeated Horseware, La Indiana took Travieso, and Villa del Lago Modere bested Equine Liquid Biocell. In the final game, Postage Stamp racked up a 12-8 victory over Tonkawa.
