The 2017 C. V. Whitney Cup Final at the International Polo Club was won by Valiente after defeated Orchard Hill 14-11 in a battle where 3 of the best polo players played for the Cup; Polito and Facundo Pieres and Adolfo Cambiaso 10 goalers into the field.
Coming in from last week’s overtime loss to Orchard Hill, Coca-Cola was in for a tough test Sunday against Valiente at the International Polo Club Palm Beach, Making their debut in the 26-goal C.V. Whitney Cup, Valiente stole the day 12-3.
In the opening game of the 26-goal season at the International Polo Club Palm Beach, Orchard Hill took down Coca-Cola in a teeth-clenching overtime battle that ended 14-13 in favor of the Pieres-powered team.
C.V. Whitney Cup will start on February 23 and the final is scheduled on March 5. The 1st 26 goal tournament is part of the Triple Crown in Wellington, Florida.
Audi appeared to be doing everything right through the first five chukkers of Sunday afternoon’s final of the 2016 C. V. Whitney Cup at the International Polo Club. It wasn’t Argentine 10-goaler Facundo Pieres, who led all scoring in last year’s high goal tournaments, or his talented 10-goal cousin (also rated at the maximum 10-goals) who made the difference.
In the highest-scoring final in C.V. Whitney Cup history, Orchard Hill ran past Alegria 16-13 at the International Polo Club before a crowd that was cheering every score.
Alegria earned a position in the final of the 2015 26-goal C. V. Whitney Cup with a 15-11 win over Audi/Millarville in Wednesday’s semifinal play at the International Polo Club.
